Epic Engineering oversaw the planning for the Bear Canyon Intake Relocation for the Draper Irrigation Company. In order to facilitate the Intake Relocation, our team of experts obtained funding through the USBR Grant Funds, we then guided the project through all necessary stream alteration permitting with the State of Utah to ensure that the project was in complete compliance.
As Epic Engineering began the design process of the project, our experts performed hydraulic modeling, flow and precipitation analysis, sediment transportation analysis and rating curves, in addition to field flow testing.
The final design and build of the Bear Canyon Intake Relocation included a new spillway gate, forebay, an ogee crest, and an efficient Coanda effect, self-cleaning intake screen.
